Egypt beat Argentina to reach World Handball Championship last 16

CAIRO, Jan 18 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt defeated Argentina 31-26 on Wednesday to secure a spot in the round of 16 of the 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship.

The Pharaohs ended the first half with a 13-10 lead. They managed to widen the gap to five points during the second half to end the game with a 31-26 victory. 

Egypt currently sit second in the group table on six points, two ahead of third-placed Sweden who have a game in hand. 

This marked Egypt's third win in the tournament as they have previously defeated Bahrain and Qatar but lost to Denmark. Egypt, who already secured their spot in the knockout stage, will face Sweden in their last match of the group stage on Friday.

Denmark, Sweden and Qatar have also secured their places in the next stage, while both Bahrain and Argentina remained at the bottom of the group on zero points.
