SINAI, Aug 19 (Aswat Masriya) – The armed forces killed on Monday two extremists and arrested seven more as part of its security crackdown on militants in the Sinai Peninsula.

Those arrested were referred to investigation, a security source told Aswat Masriya.

Security forces also destroyed two tunnels connecting Egypt's Rafah to Gaza, reported state-run news agency MENA.

Army and police forces have been cracking down on extremists and militants that have been targeting security elements and installations in Sinai since the ouster of former President Mohamed Mursi in July 2013.
