Mursi and aides to stand trial on February 16 for spying

CAIRO, Jan 21 (Aswat Masriya) A Cairo appeals court has set February 16 for the first hearing of the trial of former Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi and 35 others for spying and engaging in terrorist activities.

Standing trial with Mursi are the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme guide Mohamed Badie, Khairat al-Shater, Mohamed al-Beltagy, Mohmoud Ezzat, Safwat Hegazy, Saad al-Katatni, Essam al-Erian among others.

The Brotherhood leaders are accused of leaking information to foreign bodies and cooperating with the international Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas as well as carrying out terrorist activities against the country and its institutions and servants.
