A Cairo prosecutor has ordered that Mohamed Badie, the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme guide, be detained for 15 days pending investigations into allegations that he incited the burning down of government installments and the torturing of citizens at the Rabaa al-Adaweya protest.

Another prosecutor had ordered that Badie be detained for 30 days for investigations into violent confrontations that happened in July and violence that took place at the end of last year.

Security forces arrested Badie from an apartment in Nasr City on Tuesday and investigations in the allegations brought against him began on Wednesday.
