CAIRO, Feb 18 (Aswat Masriya) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said an Egyptian air force pilot told him "we are very confident" about the targets hit inside Libya, in a televised speech broadcast on state-television.

Reports had suggested that the Egyptian air strikes in Libya have left civilian casualties, including one by Al Jazeera which suggested that seven civilians were killed, citing sources.

The president, however, said he asked one of the pilots involved in the mission if there were any mistakes. The pilot denied that any civilian targets were hit and said the targets had been "monitored for months."

Egypt launched airstrikes on Libyan militant targets on Monday after a video released on Sunday showed the beheading of 20 Egyptian nationals and another man, who is not believed to be Egyptian.

Sisi made the remarks while on a visit to Egypt's western military zone, where he inspected security along Egypt's shared border with Libya, a statement by the presidency said earlier today.

During the visit, he met with Egyptian military figures and local tribes. He stressed the need to deal decisively with any "attempt to infiltrate the borders."
