CAIRO, May 17 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt has granted expatiates an extra day to vote for a presidential candidate due to the high turnout, said secretary-general of the Presidential Elections Commission (PEC).

The number of voters has reached 210 thousand, said Abdel Aziz Salman, the commission's secretary-general.

Foreign Ministry officials have described the turnout of Egyptian expatriates who cast their votes as unprecedented, Salman stated at a press conference on Saturday.

Voting abroad has begun on Thursday and was initially scheduled to end on Sunday.

The total number of expatriates who cast their votes in the 2012 presidential election is 306 thousand voters.
