Former Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Ahmed Fathy Sorour was dismissed after questioning over graft charges on Monday.

Egypt's Illicit Gains Authority ordered that he pay 100, 000 pounds last year on the same charges.

Sorour, who served under toppled President Hosni Mubarak, is expected to undergo two more questioning sessions over the charges, reported the state news agency.

Sorour's enormous wealth and properties are not proportional to his legitimate sources of income, according to reports by the Illicit Gains Authority.
