CAIRO, Dec 29 (Aswat Masriya) - Clashes erupted on Sunday morning between security forces and students near the main entrance to Azhar University's dormitory, state television reported.

Students went to the university to take their mid-term exams amid tight security after violent confrontations erupted on Saturday inside campus, which left at least one student killed and two university buildings torched.

At least 100 students were arrested on charges of "possessing rubber bullets and Molotov cocktails and a bag that contained nails," a security source said.

Azhar University has been witnessing recurring protests against what the Muslim Brotherhood calls a military coup that toppled former Islamist President Mohamed Mursi that followed mass protests against him.
