CAIRO, Apr 4 (Aswat Masriya) - Egyptians are among other internationals scheduled to be evacuated from Yemen, the spokesman for the coalition leading military operations in the conflict-torn country said on Saturday.

People on schedule to be evacuated include Chinese and Djibouti nationals, as well as international aid workers at the Red Cross and the United Nations Children's Fund, Coalition Spokesman Ahmed al-Asiri said in a press conference aired on television.

The spokesman said some countries have already evacuated their nationals, calling for coordination over the evacuation of expats. He added that a committee has been formed for this purpose.

Egypt is part of a Saudi-led coalition which launched military operations against the Houthis in Yemen on March 26, after the Shia rebel movement made advances onto the Yemeni south.

The number of Egyptians in Yemen is between 6,000 and 7,000 workers, according to government figures.

Amid security concerns, Egypt started coordinating with Saudi Arabia and Oman last week for the return of Egyptians wishing to leave Yemen through land crossings.

On April 1, Egypt said that a number of Egyptians had crossed into Oman by land and were taken to an airport ahead of flying back to Egypt.
