One killed in protests commemorating second anniversary of Mursi's ouster

CAIRO, Jul 3 (Aswat Masriya) - The body of a civilian was transferred to a hospital in Cairo's Maadi suburb on Friday evening, by residents who say he was killed in earlier protests commemorating the second anniversary of Islamist president Mohamed Mursi's ouster.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Health Ministry spokesman told Aswat Masriya the killed civilian was not transferred to hospital by the ministry, and therefore his death in the protest in Cairo's Dar al-Salam district could not be confirmed.
The defunct Freedom and Justice Party, the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, meanwhile accused security forces of shooting dead the casualty, whom it identified as Ahmed Mahmoud.
Brotherhood supporters marched in Maadi after the Friday prayers at noon, aiming fireworks at security forces, Cairo's Security Director Osama Bedeir earlier told Aswat Masriya.
He added that security forces used teargas to disperse protestors.
Two were injured in protests commemorating Mursi's ouster in Menoufia, Abdel Ghaffar said. They included a civilian and a conscript.
Mursi supporters held protests in other parts of the country, including Giza and the coastal city of Alexandria.
Mursi, who is a Brotherhood politician was ousted by Egypt's military after mass protests against his rule in July 2013. On Thursday, the pro-Mursi Anti-coup Alliance called for protests commemorating his ouster.
The protests come after a turbulent week for Egypt.
On Wednesday, a string of attacks were carried out by an Islamic State-affiliated militant group against security forces in North Sinai, claiming the lives of 17 army personnel and injuring 13, according to military figures. The military said it killed no less than 100 suspected militants on that day.
The country's top prosecutor was assassinated in Cairo on Monday after a bomb targeted his motorcade.
Egypt listed the Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation in December 2013 and insists it is behind the wave of militancy which has targeted security personnel since July 2013.
The Brotherhood continuously denies the accusations.
