National Security Council urges Egyptians to keep demonstrations peaceful

The National Security Council condemned all forms of violence and urged all Egyptians to keep their demonstrations on June 30 peaceful.

All state institutions and apparatuses work within a framework of respecting and protecting the constitutional legitimacy that emanates from the people's will which has established the first real democracy in Egypt after the 2011 uprising.

President Mohamed Mursi headed meeting the council held today at the presidential palace in Cairo.

The meeting grouped Prime Minister Hisham Kandil, Shura Council head Ahmed Fahmi, Defence Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and several other prominent figures.

The council said that all state institutions will perform all their duties to protect the people and all public and private facilities and to secure anticipated protests.
