CAIRO, Dec 16 (Aswat Masriya) Egyptian authorities arrested nine people near the cabinet headquarters on Monday evening for throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails on security forces and refusing to depart the area, a security source said.

Confrontations between security forces and protesters erupted on Monday in light of demonstrations to commemorate the cabinet clashes of 2011 where three people were killed and at least 200 were wounded.

Two conscripts were injured in the clashes while security forces used teargas to disperse the protesters, the state news agency MENA reported.
