CAIRO, Sept 8 (Aswat Masriya) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri is participating on Tuesday in an international conference in France to counter "terrorist practices" by the Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria.

Shukri will propose Egypt's vision during the conference, which targets combining international efforts to fight terrorism and providing a safe haven for refugees and displaced people in addition to the protection of vulnerable groups, said a foreign ministry statement.

French President Francois Hollande is chairing the conference, which is attended by Jordan's King Abdallah.

The conference is supposed to put together an action plan towards the protection of vulnerable groups and the punishment of those involved in violations against them, as well as support countries receiving refugees.

The Islamic State fighters beheaded 20 Egyptian Christians in Libya after holding them captive last February, to which the Egyptian air force launched airstrikes on targets in Libya.
