CAIRO, June 2 (Aswat Masriya) Chaos erupted at Wadi al-Natroon Prison on Monday following a recent death of a political prisoner, a security source said.

Security sources have said that Mohamed Abdullah suffered from complications related to breathing that led to his death through suffocation and denied that he was attacked.

A number of political prisoners detained over membership in the Muslim Brotherhood and breaching the new protest law have shut down the cell from the inside and begun chanting against the army and police, the security source added.

Hospital sources had said that Abdullah suffered an asthma attack during clashes with security forces where they used teargas.

Forensic reports countered allegations that the 50-year-old political prisoner was tortured or attacked, a medical source told Aswat Masriya late on Sunday.

Abdullah was charged with breaking Egypt's protest law on the third anniversary of the January 25 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

Supporters of ousted President Mohamed Mursi and the Brotherhood have announced the beginning of a "prisons' uprising".

Abdel Ghaffar Shokr, deputy head of the National Council for Human Rights, told Aswat Masriya earlier that the council has asked the prosecutor-general for an investigation into the prisoner's death and a report detailing the incident.
