Court sentences 102 Brotherhood supporters to 10 years in jail

CAIRO, May 3 (Aswat Masriya) - The Cairo Criminal Court sentenced on Saturday 102 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to 10 years in prison and two others to seven years for taking part violent clashes in Cairo last year.

The prosecution had detained 104 suspects following clashes in Dhaher area in Cairo last July and charged them with joining a banned group that threatens security, killing Ahmed Salah al-Bassiouny and others, and attempting to murder Amr Badawi and others.

It also charged them with using force and violence against the police, possessing bladed weapons and unlicensed firearms and ammunition, sabotaging public facilities, cutting the road, and disrupting traffic.
