The upper house’s Legislation Committee decided on Sunday to add six new seats to seven governorates, bringing the total number of Shura Council seats to 588, instead of 546.

The committee held a conference early on Sunday to discuss the redistribution of electoral seats in accordance with the recommendations of the high constitutional court on the parliament elections law.

The committee will present its decision to the general assembly at the next session for discussion.
