At least thirty people were injured in clashes between Muslim Brotherhood members and their opponents in Alexandria's Sidi Gaber.

The injured were transferred to Alexandria University's Central Hospital with injuries ranging from cuts to birdshots.

Security forces "stand at the same distance from all Egyptians and will work on separating between the two sides to prevent them from clashing", head of Alexandria's security headquarters said.

Brotherhood members fired birdshots at protesters who were marching near the group's headquarters, al-Shorouk Portal reported.

Brotherhood spokesman Anas al-Qadi said that hundreds of "Rebel" Campaign members are attacking the headquarters using petrol bombs and birdshots.

The Muslim Brotherhood welcomes peaceful demonstrations but is against all forms of violence and bloodshed which the opposition has adopted last year, al-Qadi added in a statement.
