CAIRO, Oct 29 (Aswat Masriya) - Two prominent Egyptian activists started a sit-in on Wednesday in Cairo's Supreme Court to protest the imprisonment of their family members; Alaa Abdel Fattah and Sanaa Seif.

Laila Soueif, mother of two detained activists, said that "the security are trying to forcibly take us out of the courthouse," in a phone interview with Aswat Masriya.

Abdel Fattah and Seif - siblings - are both detained for violating the protest law enacted in December 2013 which restricts public assembly and regulates prior notification of any demonestration to the authorities. Abdel Fattah is implicated in other charges.

Mona Seif, sister of Abdel Fattah and Seif, said on her Facebook account that she and her mother have filed a report to the general prosecutor on Tuesday to notify him of escalating their partial food strike into a complete abstention from food and water consumption. They have been on a full hunger strike for three days now.

"We began our sit-in the hall of the courthouse, near the lawyers' room." Mona Seif said on her Facebook account.

Soueif and Mona Seif joined a solidarity campaign of a partial hunger-strikers on September 4. Sanaa Seif joined the hunger strike on August 28.
