Five people, including a police sergeant, were injured in clashes between campaigners of the “Tamarod” (Rebel) movement and members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Fayoum on Monday.

Tens of Tamarod campaigners were gathered in al-Sawaqy Square earlier to collect petitions calling for a no-confidence vote against President Mohamed Mursi and early presidential elections when they clashed with Brotherhood members.

After security forces successfully dispersed the confrontations, some of the anti-regime campaigners headed to the police station to file a complaint against the alleged Brotherhood supporters, reported the state news agency.
