CAIRO, Oct 14 (Aswat Masriya) - Two civilians were injured in blasts caused by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria on Tuesday night, the Interior Ministry said.

The two injured were passing by when an IED detonated in Alexandria's Bab Sharq district, the ministry said in a statement on Facebook.

The other blast took place in a railway warehouse and damaged the glass of one of the parked trains inside.

Bombings and shootings have surged since the military ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Mursi in July 2013, following mass protests against his rule.

Most attacks first occurred in the Sinai Peninsula, yet they have crawled into other parts of the country, including the capital.

Although, security forces have mostly been the target of attacks, civilians have been affected by the violence as well.
