Cairo, Dec. 4 (Aswat Masriya) - A Molotov cocktail attack killed 16 people and injured three more in what the Ministry of Interior (MOI) described as a "revenge" attack on a nightclub in Giza’s Agouza neighborhood on Friday.

The preliminary findings indicate that the attack followed a fight between the employees at the club and "others", according to the MOI statement.

The Molotov cocktails were thrown at the door of the club “out of revenge,” the MOI statement added.

Authorities were able to indentify two potential suspects involved in the attack, a security source told state-run MENA news agency.

Ahmed Al-Baqly, the prosecutor general of Northern Giza, told Aswat Masriya that the prosecution has decided to maintain surveillance cameras at the crime scene.

“Legal procedures have been taken,” the MOI said, adding that criminal investigators are also interrogating the accused perpetrators of the incident.
