CAIRO, Jan 27 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's top military council has decided to nominate Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for presidency, the state news agency said on Monday.

The military council convened earlier to discuss the nomination of Sisi, who was promoted to the position of field marshal this morning, as well as the latest security developments, said the agency.

Egypt's interim president announced on Sunday that the country will be holding presidential elections before parliamentary elections.
