Army and police forces prevented a march for supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and ousted President Mohamed Mursi from acessing Cairo's Rabaa al-Adaweya Square on Friday.

ONTV Live aired live footage of scores of demonstrations who tried to get to the square but were prevented by the barbed wire and tha tanks which deployed the police and the army deployed around the square.

The participants carried yellow cards showing the Rabaa symbol and chanted anti-army and police slogans.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy which backs Mursi has called for rallying on Friday under the motto "Egypt's women are a red line" to denounce what they called the blatant assault by security bodies on women in Egypt.

Army and police forces sealed off Tahrir, Rabaa, Mostafa Mahmoud and Nahda squares in Cairo and Giza earlier on Friday in anticipation of protests supporting deposed elected President Mohamed Mursi, Akhbar Masr website reported.
