Egypt will suspend its flights to Japan's Osaka starting October 20, the country's national carrier EgyptAir announced in a press release issued Thursday.

The decision came in reaction to the Japanese government's decision that embodied an official travel warning that advised its citizens against travel to Egypt due to political instability.

Travel operations between Egypt and Japan were usually estimated at two flights per week.

The national company, which suspended its direct flights to Tokyo in July, said its travel operations to Japan primarily depended on flying Japanese tourists to Egypt, explaining its decision to halt flights to the Asian country.
