CAIRO, Jan 28 (Aswat Masriya) The Egyptian authorities arrested 17 supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood on Tuesday for trying to block the road and riot while protesting near the Supreme Court at the same time as the trial of ousted President Mohamed Mursi.

Mursi and his aides are accused of plotting and taking part in a prison break on January 28 during the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

"The arrested had a significant amount of Molotov cocktails, fireworks and an explosive device that was detonated at once," said a statement by the Interior Ministry.

Television footage showed Mursi’s supporters starting fires and blocking roads in Ramsis Street earlier on Tuesday, which coincides with the third anniversary of the Friday of Rage protests against autocratic Mubarak.
