Trial of Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel Fattah set to March 23

CAIRO, March 15 (Aswat Masriya) A Cairo appeals court set March 23 for the trial of activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and 24 others over the Shura Council events that happened on November 26. 

The suspects are accused of protesting without permit, attacking security forces, among other things.

The Shura Council events followed the ratification of a new protest law that forbids gathering without obtaining permission from the authorities.
