CAIRO, Sept 26 (Aswat Masriya) - The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy (NCSL) criticized Thursday President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's speech before the United Nations General Assembly, describing it as a "failure".

Sisi addressed the General Assembly's 69th session on Wednesday, delivering a speech as Egypt's representative. He addressed the issue of terrorism in the Middle East, stressing that Egypt has suffered from terrorism since the 1920 at the hands of "groups which trade in religion."

"The escalating extremism and violence practiced in the region in the name of religion is proof of the true goals of such groups [as the Muslim Brotherhood] which exploit religion," Sisi said, adding that he has "repeatedly warned" against such threats.

"The premature speech of the second Mubarak is an expression of an exposed state of denial attempting to conceal the obvious truth and mislead international public opinion of his crimes," the statement added in reference to President Sisi.

NCSL also called on its supporters to rally on Friday under the banner of "justice" to denounce what they called "absence of justice, and abolition of law and the judiciary".

The coalition, which grouped all pro-Mursi Islamist alliances, was established in June 2013 to back deposed President Mohamed Mursi. It has taken to calling for demonstrations on a weekly basis to protest what they called the "coup against legitimacy", in reference to Mursi's ouster from power last July.
