CAIRO, May 16 (Aswat Masriya) - Groups of Azhar students supporting the Muslim Brotherhood clashed on Friday with security forces at the Azhar University and Cairo University hostels, Ahram Portal reported.

Clashes broke out at the Azhar University hostel after students organised a march at the hostel mosque, the portal said.

Security forces prevented the students from marching forward and tear-gassed them, prompting students to hurl stones and petrol bombs at the police.

In a separate incident, security forces clashed with pro-Muslim Brotherhood students at the Cairo University hostel on Friday afternoon after the latter had tried to stage marches to roam the streets.

Security forces sealed the hostel gates while students gathered behind the gates and chanted against the army and the police.

Security forces then fired teargas bombs to disperse them.
