CAIRO, May 7 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's border security forces chased and killed early Thursday three suspected militants in a crossfire in North Sinai's Rafah, the armed forces spokesman said.

Spokesman Mohamed Samir said in a statement that the three "extremely dangerous terrorists" were implicated in "hostile" acts against army and police forces, which led to the death of a number of security personnel.

Militancy inside Egypt has seen a significant rise since July 2013, with the military ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi, following mass protests against his rule. Most attacks target security forces in North Sinai.

Two conscripts were killed in a shooting on a central security camp in North Sinai's Rafah early Thursday.

At least 115 suspected militants were killed by the armed forces in North Sinai last month alone, according to statements by Samir.
