Two injured as police clash with pro-Brotherhood marchers

Two people received injuries from birdshot on Friday when police and Muslim Brotherhood loyalists clashed in Giza, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Dozens of Brotherhood loyalists staged marches following Friday prayers in Faisal Street in Giza before police used teargas to disperse them. Forces also reportedly shot birdshots in the air, but two people were injured.
Brotherhood loyalists, who oppose the current government, also staged demonstrations in other parts of Greater Cairo including Ain Shams and Hadayek El-Maadi.
Similar demonstrations took place in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, which has seen near-weekly anti-government demonstrations.
Egypt banned protests without prior authorisation from the interior ministry in November 2013 and the Muslim Brotherhood has been also banned and declared a terrorist organisation.
Police have arrested hundreds under the provisions of the protest law.
Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood have staged regular protests with its allies since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in summer 2013.
