The electoral campaign of the disqualified presidential candidate Omar Suleiman announced it will file an appeal to the Higher Presidential Elections Committee against the decision to disqualify Suleiman from the presidential race.
Suleiman’s campaign will take all legal measures to challenge the committee’s decision, Reem Mamdouh, media spokesperson of Suleiman’s campaign, stated.
Suleiman was disqualified for failing to provide at least 1,000 recommendations from one governorate. The presidential elections law states that a candidate has to secure 30,000 recommendations from 15 governorates with a minimum of 1,000 recommendations from each governorate.
The campaign will continue its work until the committee’s final decision is announced, Mamdouh told the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
