CAIRO, June 20 (Aswat Masriya) - Two people were shot dead and three were injured during clashes that broke out in Cairo's Marg district on Friday afternoon, a security source at the Interior Ministry said.

Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood clashed with residents of Kafr al-Shorafa area in Marg, a district in North-Eastern Cairo, as the pro-Brotherhood demonstrators marched in the area.

The two fatalities were caused by gunshots as firearms were used in the clashes, the source told Aswat Masriya.

Three people suffered minor injuries. They were treated at al-Wahed Hospital in Marg and left shortly after, the source added.

Dwindling groups of the Brotherhood supporters have taken to staging marches every Friday since the ouster of former President Mohamed Mursi last July.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy, which backs Mursi, has called on its allies to take part in week-long rallies to protest against what it called the new cabinet's "attempts to militarise the state".
