CAIRO, April 11 (Aswat Masriya) - One person was shot dead during clashes between police forces and Muslim Brotherhood elements in Alexandria on Friday.

The man was transported to the Zohour Hospital during the clashes, said Omar Nasr, head of Alexandria's ambulance service.

The man, who was 50 years old, is called Abdel Hakam al-Zamzami, a medical source at the hospital said.

Five Brotherhood members were arrested at al-Siouf area where the clashes were ongoing, said Major General Nasser al-Abd, head of Alexandria's investigations unit.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy, which backs ousted President Mohamed Mursi, has called on its supporters to rally for one week starting Friday to protest the current regime's actions.

In Gharbiya, two Brotherhood members were killed earlier this morning in a fire exchange with the police.

On the other side, dozens of presidential candidate Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's supporters staged a demonstration at Alexandria's al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque to show their support for the former defence minister.
