Pro-Mursi coalition slams presidency's statement

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy slammed the Egyptian interim president's statement and called for the ousted president's return.

The pro-Mursi Islamist alliance condemned the statement in which president Adli Mansour announced that diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and deal with the sit-ins at Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Squares have ended in failure.

"The presidency of the illegitimate and power-usurping coup's state has issued a statement containing fallacies and lies in an attempt to beautify the ugly face of the July 3 coup," said the coalition, which the Muslim Brotherhood and several Islamist parties founded.

The coalition explained it did not call for international intervention to solve the crisis and said it is only keen on retrieving "legitimacy" and having deposed president Mohamed Mursi return to power.
