17 militants killed, 62 others arrested – military spokesman

CAIRO, Sep 17 (Aswat Masriya) - Egyptian security forces killed 17 militants and arrested 62 others on Thursday, the 11th day of an operation dubbed “martyr’s right” operation, said the military spokesman.
Joint police and army forces are conducting military operations in the towns of Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.
A total of 438 militants have so far been killed, according to previous statements by the army spokesman.
The armed forces are fighting rising militancy in North Sinai. Insurgency peaked in the area following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
