CAIRO, Oct 28 (Aswat Masriya) – Civil protection forces dismantled on Tuesday morning an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near a primary school in Giza's Faysal neighbourhood.

Security forces combed the area around the Amr Ibn al-Aas Private School and found no more explosive devices, reported state-run news agency MENA. They were able to dismantle the IED before it caused any injuries.

Egypt's Minister of Education Mahmoud Abu al-Nasr said on Monday that security forces have dismantled 45 bombs targeting students nationwide during the past few days.

Security forces have intensified their security measures in reaction to repeated militant attacks that target army and police officials in North Sinai, which rose significantly since the military ouster of former President Mohamed Mursi last year. The attacks soon expanded to other areas of the country, including the capital.

An explosion occurred in the vicinity of Cairo University on Wednesday, leaving at least 10 injured.
