CAIRO, Feb 26 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will fly to Saudi Arabia on Sunday in an official visit to foster Egyptian-Saudi bilateral relations, a presidential statement said on Thursday.

The Arab summit due in Cairo next month will be on the agenda of the visit, "especially since the current situation requires ... fending off attempts to sow division between the Arab countries, and solidarity to confront the increasing dangers to which the Arab region is exposed," Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said in the statement.

Sisi is due to meet with recently-crowned King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin Bin Abdul Aziz, and Interior Minister Prince Mohamed Bin Nayef.

Saudi Arabia has been a major supporter of Egypt since the military ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in 2013, following mass protests against his rule. Along with United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, the three Gulf states have provided Egypt with over 12 billion dollars in financial assistance.

Earlier on Thursday, Sisi met with his Jordanian counterpart King Abdullah II of Jordan in Cairo, to explore Egyptian-Jordanian relations and means to develop them in the economic and political fields.
