Police officer shot in pro-Brotherhood march in Sharqiya

CAIRO, June 13 (Aswat Masriya) - A police officer was shot in the foot on Friday in clashes that occurred during a pro-Muslim Brotherhood march city in Sharqiya, an Aswat Masriya witness said.
Dozens of demonstrators staged a march that roamed the streets of Minya al-Qamh city. Security forces tear-gassed the crowds to disband them.
Five people were arrested during the clashes while eight others were arrested in al-Hussainiya city in other clashes.
The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy had called on its supporters to stage week-long rallies.
The coalition has urged participants to remain peaceful and to hold Egypt's flag and banners carrying former President Mohamed Mursi's picture and the Rabaa symbol.
