Mursi supporters march to Cairo's military intelligence HQ

Allies of deposed President Mohamed mursi marched on Friday from Cairo's Nasr City to the military intelligence headquarters in Masr al-Gedida, the Middle East News Agency reported.

Mursi and the Muslim Brotherhood's supporters held banners carrying the Rabaa symbol and chanted to demand the former president's return to office.

Army forces sealed of Merghany Street around the Ittihadeya presidential palace, the state television reported.

Mursi supporters organised a number of marches following Friday's noon prayer in Cairo and several cities to express their support for Mursi before his trial on charges of inciting violence begins next Monday.

Mursi and several Brotherhood leading figures are charged with inciting violence during clashes between supporters and opponents of the Brotherhood at the presidential palace on December 5.

Eleven people, including Journalist al-Husseini Abu Deif, were killed while hundreds were injured in these clashes.
