Mohamed Abdel Aziz, a central committee member of the “Tamarod” (Rebel) campaign, has said that the campaign has collected over 15 million petitions and plans to hold a press conference to announce the official numbers soon.

The purpose of Tamarod is to collect petitions to push for a no-confidence vote against President Mohamed Mursi and call for early presidential elections.

"The upcoming number will be a great surprise for Egyptians and President Mohamed Mursi because it will exceed all expectations," Abdel Aziz said.

He added that Mursi has lost the support of everyone except for the Muslim Brotherhood.

He accused the Islamist president of trying to gain the United States' approval and said, “The Americans did not do [Hosni] Mubarak any good and will not benefit you either.”

He insisted that it is too late for negotiations initiated by the Brotherhood or its allies.
