CAIRO, Jan 22 (Aswat Masriya) Hundreds of football enthusiasts from the Ultras Ahlawy group staged a demonstration in downtown’s Talaat Harb Street on Wednesday, three days before the third anniversary of the January 25 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak, a Reuters eyewitness said.

The protesters chanted against the interim government that was put in place after the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in July.

They also chanted slogans against the Muslim Brotherhood and Mursi.

“We removed Mubarak, but we haven’t yet removed the system that’s under him… we are protesting on the 25th to accomplish our goals: bread, freedom and social justice! And to fix this country,” one of the protesters said.

The state newspaper Al-Ahram said that the authorities have closed Tahrir Square to prevent protesters from gathering in it before Saturday's official celebration.
