Egypt sentences 112 Islamists to one year in prison

CAIRO, June 9 (Aswat Masriya) An Egyptian court sentenced on Monday 112 alleged supporters of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood to one year in prison in relation to the violence that erupted on third anniversary of the January uprising.

Those sentenced were convicted on charges including inciting violence, assaulting the police and blocking the road in Cairo during protests in al-Moski commercial area in Central Cairo last January.

They were also accused of violating the protest law.
