Al-Mofeed Association for Training and Development launched on Monday an initiative entitled "Etkallemo" to empower women by helping them obtain their political, economic and social rights.
The initiative will work on establishing a platform for communication and dialogue between youths and officials.
The initiative's plan to elevate the status of women depends on developing the skills of people working in the media by raising their awareness of the need for supporting the Egyptian women's issues, initiative coordinator Heba Ibrahim said.
There is a need for correcting the negative image of the Egyptian woman's role, Ibrahim added.
This initiative seeks to train 40 male and female youths between an age range of 18 to 31 to help them become trainers on women's rights in domestic laws and international treaties.
It will also train 30 people working in the media on how to deal with women's issues with objectivity.
