Egypt’s National Council for Women has established a center in Qena to issue official documents for women such as birth as well as marriage and divorce certificates, said Enyat al-Sayed, the NCW’s Qena coordinator.

Sayed added in a statement released on Tuesday that this step came in light of activating the coordination protocol signed with the Ministry of Administrative Development to establish local centers to provide services to women.

The Qena coordinator added that 146 women have been granted loans since September of last year in different villages in Qena and that the complaint center has so far received 204 notices of various natures.

The complaint center receives messages through mail or fax or in person to provide legal and personal counseling and refers them to experts if necessary.
