Army and police forces sealed off Tahrir, Rabaa, Mostafa Mahmoud and Nahda squares in Cairo and Giza on Friday morning in anticipation of protests supporting deposed elected President Mohamed Mursi, Akhbar Masr website reported.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy which backs Mursi has called for protesting on Friday under the motto "Egypt's women are a red line".

Akhbar Masr, an Egyptian Radio and Television Union website, reported the deployment of army tanks along the entrances of Tahrir Square and completely sealed it to traffic.

Barbed wire was placed at the square's entrances and traffic was redirected to other routes, the website added.

Tanks were deployed at the rest of the squares to secure them and prevent the possible outbreak of clashes or violence.

Mursi's allies have been staging demonstrations since the former president was deposed last July in protest against what they called a coup against legitimacy.
