CAIRO, Aug 29 (Aswat Masriya) - A shipment carrying 62,000 tonnes of Russian wheat arrived to Alexandria Port on Friday.

The wheat cargo has been unloaded and cast into silos for inspection, General Adel Yaseen Hammad, head of Alexandria Port Authority told state-run MENA agency.

Russia was scheduled to supply Egypt with at least five million tonnes of wheat, according to Russian President Vladmir Putin, who said that Cairo was ready for an increase in its supply of agricultural commodities by 30 percent earlier in August.

Egypt is the world's largest wheat importer, importing around 10 million tonnes annually.
