CAIRO, Feb 9 (Aswat Masriya) The total number of Egyptians who have died this winter as a result of the “swine flu”, scientifically known as the H1N1 virus, has risen to 36, the health ministry said on Sunday.

State newspaper Al-Ahram said early on Sunday that Egypt has seen a total of 318 cases since the beginning of December of last year.

The World Health Organization denied last week rumors that some Egyptian doctors died as a result of the virus, adding that it is working with the Egyptian authorities to monitor the situation.
