CAIRO, Feb 20 (Aswat Masriya) - A prosecutor has referred 47 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to criminal court on charges related to breaking into and torching the Tebbin Police Station.

Sherif Ashraf, South Cairo Prosecutor, charged the defendants with demonstrating, rioting, attempting to murder a number of policemen, torching the police station, attempting to smuggle convicts, possessing arms, and joining an illegal organisation.

The 47 defendants attacked the police station in the period following the clearing of two Muslim Brotherhood sit-ins in Cairo and Giza last August.
