CAIRO, Jan 17 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's Ministry of Health has said in a statement that one person was killed and 33 were injured during clashes that occurred on Thursday.

The ministry did not provide details on the nature of these clashes, the Middle East News Agency reported.

The Interior Ministry said on Thursday that one Cairo University student was shot dead and four others were injured during acts of violence on the university campus.

Egyptian universities have been witnessing demonstrations by students supporting former President Mohamed Mursi to demand his return to power and to denounce what they called the "military coup" that ousted him.
