CAIRO, Jan 13 (Aswat Masriya) – Egyptian authorities at Cairo International Airport banned on Tuesday political activist Esraa Abdel Fattah from traveling to Germany, saying her name was on a travel ban list.

Airport officials told Aswat Masriya that as Abdel Fattah was going through passport control to board a plane to Frankfurt, her name was seen on the travel ban list as per an investigation judge's order.

Abdel Fattah was informed of her travel ban, allowed to take her bag from the plane and left the airport without being detained, officials added.

The political activist could not be immediately reached for comment.

Abdel Fattah is one of the founders of the April 6 Youth Movementand has recently founded a non-governmental organisation called "Free Egyptian Women" to train women in political leadership.
